Conexpo Day 3!

Here it is day three now.... we spent part of the day watching the guys from Mammoet setup the Mammoet PTC 35DS Crane Model in the booth.  The model is very eye-catching if I do say so myself.  I actually setup a good portion of the Coke Drum model in the booth at the same time.  It does take some time, but is well worth it when complete.  The Coke Drum Model is spectacular!  The coke drum itself has amazing detail and the trucks and trailer sections are very well done.  Nice work WSI!

The booth is finally all setup except for some minor details we have to finish tomorrow.  Had dinner tonight with our "team" at the Excalibur steakhouse.  Fine meal with some great company.  Helping us out this year is Leon and Kathy Thompson, Graham May, Chuck Sword Sr. and Paul and Christiaan from Mammoet.  We will also have a couple of Mammoet Trading representatives with two hostesses working out of the booth Tuesday through Thursday.

Have finally taken some pics of the booth itself as well as some other interesting items found at the show today.  Will try to comment on some of the pics as I determine how best to portray what is happening out here.

It is always fascinating to see how a show comes together at the last minute.  I watched the continuous movement of machines and people all day long and it always amazing to me that, when the show opens, most everything is in place.  The sheer effort required to put something like this Conexpo together is remarkable.  I know these companies have been doing this for many years, but the final product is always something special to see.  If you have not been to see this show and you like construction equipment, cranes, trucks, etc. you really need to see it at least once.

We are still waiting for a box to be delivered but, in the process of following up on my box, found out that there were over 700 small packages delivered at one time this morning, GES (The trade show company) has to check in each package and then arrange for booth deliveries to occur.  It is a nightmare!  So we wait (im)patiently for ours to arrive.

There are many companies with stages in their booths.  For example, Case has an all-girl band playing live during the show.  Many other stages have had rehearsals going, but I have not seen what is being presented on them yet.  I can imagine when they are all filled and running this week, the noise will be deafening.

Our space has come together nicely.  We are located in the North Hall hallway - south of the Gold Lot.  See our booth pics below...

First Paul and Christiaan hard at work on the PTC Crane Model.  The model, from start to finish took about 5 hours with both guys working non-stop to setup!

Then comes a time for a little instruction on some items for the booth...

Maybe time for some fun while Christiaan tries to setup the showcase of Mammoet merchandise!

And then everyone is relieved that the crane is setup successfully!  (Who is that guy in the middle?).

Now for some photos of the finished booth space!

Leon showed me this machine in the North Hall - talk about a huge machine!  Holy cow!

Sneek in a few more booth pictures...

Then show the 31000 tooling model being setup!

Some more pictures of the show - various sites!
